Fans tested for static pressure

Hardware.Info has reviewed 144 fans with 120mm and 140mm diameter for static pressure, including 17 by be quiet!. The new SilentWings 3 series is also included. For the 120mm fans, the most efficient be quiet! fan is the Shadow Wings 120mm LS (scoring a 4th place) and for the 140mm fans it's the Pure Wings 2 140mm (15th place). None of the fans win an award.

Power supplies from be quiet! used for comparison of PSU efficiency

A detailed article on PSU efficiency has been published by the German web site Computerbase.de. The editors compared four power supply series with different 80Plus certificates. be quiet! provided two devices from the Straight Power 10 series with 400, and 600 watts respectively. Each of these PSUs is 80Plus Gold certified. Amongst other things, Computerbase liked the use of active-clamp technology (ACRF).

“Even though the Straight Power 10 series also uses a forward converter, the circuit was expanded by active-clamp technology (ACRF). This allows the switching of MOSFETs at zero voltage, which secures that there are no losses.”

Throughout the five pages of the test, the journalist highlights the performance of the kit while maintaining its silence of operation - which allows it to get two awards. He also insists on the overall quality of manufacture and the presence of a refill port, which allows to extend its life.

Kaby Lake 7700K 5GHz AIO Cooler Mega Test

Overclock3D has published their mass round-up of AIO coolers, which includes the Silent Loop 240mm. Unfortunately, they have once again resorted to complaining about the mounting, as well as about the tubing length, which negates the positive remarks made about the build quality and performance.

“Well to the un-initiated, what your observing is an inner layer of material that lies beneath the screw holes that prevents the screws over penetrating into the fin stack beneath.  We're not 100% certain, but we can't remember seeing this done so nicely on an AIO, and certainly not one in this test.”
